Week 20 – How to deal with a “Baditude”.

We all know someone with a baditude (bad attitude).  They are also known as negativists, whiners, complainers.  To them, everything is bad or negative.  They are angry, mad at the world and their comments about everyone and everything are negative.

Dealing with them can be a challenge. Our first instinct is to agree with them. The problem is that when you agree with a baditude, you are encouraging their behavior.  Want to really drive them crazy?  Kill them with kindness and/or be overly positive.  So, if someone comes up to me and says “I can’t stand Suzie.”  I’ll say “Really, I LOVE Suzie!”  If they say, “I can’t stand this weather it’s so hot outside.”  I’ll say “I love to sweat, it cleans out my pores!”  If everytime they say something negative I reply with a positive, they will stop coming to me because I’m no fun.

Tude Tip:  When dealing with someone’s baditude, respond with positivity.  It WILL drive them crazy.
