Week 6 – A cat and an attitude – a lesson for humans!

I love cats.  There, I said it.  My husband, on the other hand, is extremely allergic. So, we can’t own cats or visit people with cats – at least for very long.  My mother, who lives in northern california, owns one cat named Dusty.  Whenever I visit her I get to satisfy my craving for the furry little creatures.  Unfortunately, my mother’s cat is not particularly friendly – at least to me, anyway.  He seems to like my mother, when he’s not biting her, that is.
Last year, a little stray kitty started showing up outside my mother’s house.  She was mostly gray with white legs, white on her face, and the biggest white paws.  She was adorable.  Of course we started feeding her.  Last X-Mas I tried to pet her and she loved it.  I’d never seen a cat drool so much in such a short period of time.  Soon we were holding her, petting her on our laps and inviting her in.  She was so loving and sweet.
Fast forward 2 months. She is now “fixed” and living inside my mother’s house.  When I visited 2 days after Zammy’s “procedure”,she had to be confined to one room.  Of course I had to sleep in that room to keep her company.  All night she slept on my pillow, facing me with her paw on my face.  I know, I know, that’s ridiculous, right?  Oh, but it was so cute!!!
I’ve encountered many cats in my lifetime and most of them are nice – part of the time.  They enjoy being pet when the time is good for THEM.  This new cat, however,  loves being pet by anybody at anytime.  She’s non judgemental and always happy to see EVERYBODY. She’s the ultimate example of KhoZAMitude so we ended up naming her Zammy – cute, huh?

Z-Tip:  Treat everyone with kindness and respect. You just might gain a loyal friend.
